♡♥♡♥

5years7months

Today's the 29th. So, HAPPY MONTHSARY DEAREST!! XOXO.
We've (or rather, I) have been wanting to eat Dim Sum for breakfast since our exam period.
But ever since holiday started, we can't seem to find the time for this.
Since today's our special day, we decided to go for yum cha (:

A week ago I've been asking around Twitter to find out which Dim Sum restaurant is nice.
I've also Googled, read food blogs etc & in conclusion, Red Star is the cheapest.
I know I damn budget but what to do?? Me so poor.

However, I was rather disappointed even before I step into the restaurant.
The restaurant was located at some very ulu place in Chinatown.
Its in this HDB block-like building, on the 7th story.
The building is run-down, lift is old. We even waited for 5mins for the lift to come.

We were attended to & seated as soon as we entered.
Their service is average. Btw, there's not much people in the restaurant.
Ok maybe because its a weekday & its office hour.

They do not have menus. All the dishes were taken from the trolleys they push around.
Here are the dishes we had...

 Chee Cheong Fun

I think its called Fried Prawn Roll or something. It taste really nice, especially with mayo (Y)

Char Sau Su. I've heard reviews saying their Char Sau Su is nice.
But to my dismay, its SUCKS TO THE MAX!!
There were a total of 3 piece. Jz & I took 1 each, no one is willing to take the last piece.

Century Egg Porridge. This is by far the BEST dish we've ever had
I wanted to have second bowl but then we're too full from eating the rest.

Har Kaw. Taste really sucky. Like, they cooked days before & keep heating it up to serve.
The skin is hard & got this weird taste. I have to dip it with full of chili sauce.

Xiao Long Bao. The thing about XLB is, the sweet juice of the meat when you bite them right??
But their XLB, don't even have juice! Even when I bite the meat, its dry. The skin also dry.
I am a huge fan of XLB but, this really disappoint me.

Siew Mai. Dry & doesn't taste nice at all.

After our very filling yum cha (yes damn full until we seat there stone for 15mins),
we went over to Bugis cause I wna check out something.
Totally regretted stepping into Bugis Village seriously.
Esther Goh, Y U NO MONEY!???
I walked past every shop & got the urge of going in to buy stuff but have to resist the temptation.
Its that serious to the extend that I can almost shiver on the spot. Like y'know, drug addict??

Even though its just a short day out with love, I am already contented.
When is the last time we ever go out on a date? Especially on the very special date - 29th?? Hardly.
Ok I know its not as if we NEVER go out. We always go out, in big groups.
So, today was special cause we're alone. Hehehe. & my boy is always so silly.

I love you, Darling!
