Family

Batu Layar

Hi guys, so I was away over the weekends on a spontaneous 2D1N getaway to M'sia with my parents.
Batu Layar is actually in Johor Bahru, but it's near the coastline. So there's the beach!

It's actually Dad's company outing & everyone's allowed to bring their partner & kids along.
All of us will be staying in the chalets over there. Which, sounds fun but... you'll know later.
I was hesitant to tag along with my parents cause I'll be the only one going with them.
Sis & Bro has their own stuff to do over the weekends. I felt like a lightbulb.
& I was thinking if I should just stay in Singapore & havoc while my parents were away.
In the end, I thought I should spend more time with my parents before SIP this September ):

We set off yesterday morning.. Grandma & GrandAunts are hitching a ride to my relative's place.
After dropping them off at my relative's place in JB, we detour to our house in M'sia,
which is still under construction. (Can't wait for it to be done!)

Ok, these are the breakfast we had when we first entered M'sia. Yums yums!

I don't like duck, nor pork. So I had half-boiled eggs instead. All time fav.

Our house in M'sia. Which is still under construction.

This would be our M'sia address!

The golf course in the house we're staying in.
Its actually like a condo, but the houses were terraces, bungalows, semi-detached etc.
& for M'sia, they have golf courses at almost every condos! So cool!

Next, we continued the rest of our journey travelling to Desaru!
I fell asleep in the car. Really deep sleep. When I woke up, we're already in Desaru.

Here are some sceneric shots I tried taking when I'm fresh up from my nap...

We stopped by a town in Desaru for lunch.
We went to a restaurant that is known for their seafood.

Coconut on a hot & humid day like this.

Lobsters!
I'm not a fan of lobsters  but ever since I had lobster bee hoon in Crystal Jade,
I fell in love with lobster! Ok la, not really in love, but I grew to accept it.

This Salted Egg Crab is TO.DIE.FOR!
I usually control the intake of seafood cause I'm a little allergic to it.
But believe it or not, I ate 6pincers. Ok la, the crabs are quite small but still... SIX!

After the hearty lunch, we drove the Batu Layar, which is where the chalet is.
Welcomed by the beautiful seashore.

Saw lots of couples taking their wedding photos there. I
was telling Mom "They stupid or what? Wear heels here to take photos. Can just wear slippers what. The photos also never take their feet!"
Make sense??

The chalet we'd be spending the night in. Why their chalet so cute!? Triangular in shape!(?)

The company people brought karaoke set along. Guess it's not gna be a peaceful night.

Low & behold... This would be the room we're staying in...

The room is apathetic. Its even smaller than my current room can? Except this has a toilet.
& I'll rate 1 out of 5 stars for cleanliness. Look at the bedsheet, does it look like it's been changed!?

Pathetic small bed where 3 of us has to squeeze in.

This is the toilet. Which is no different from any other public toilet.
Please lor, even some public toilet is better than this.

Took a short little rest & since the weather is so good, let's head out & take a breather! (:

There were giant rocks at the seashore so its a good chance to take sceneric shots. Hehe.

Struggling to climb up the rock. Its so steep!

What goes up, must come down. & its really hard.

Back to the chalet!

We're gna have BBQ & since we arrive at 4pm, they're already preparing!!

Along the way to Batu Layar, we stopped by provision shops to get snacks. & look what I found!
Childhood food that I love eating while I was young! Like, primary school. Oh man, those times...

In the night, I was having a splitting headache & refuse to get out of the room.
So Dad & Mom went out for BBQ while  I stayed in the room to sleep. Hahaha.
Thankfully after a power nap I felt much better. So I went out to join them.
They were having some games. Which looked fun! Too bad I was too shy to join in.

Did I mention? It was so hard to sleep at night! I slept in between both my parents.
& the whole time, I dare not face my father as he has morning breadth! Omg.
Oh yea, I didn't dare to lie on the bed so I lay my sleeping bag on it. Cleanliness freak.

This is how we sleep in the night. Dad, me, Mom. All 3 squeeze in 1 bed.

Ok, shan't elaborate on my sleep. Rise and shine at 9am in the morning.
I think we're one of the last family to wake up cause when we're out for breakfast,
all of them were already playing games! So we watched while having breakfast. Haha.

Dad & his workers.

Good-bye, Batu Layar.

To leave Desaru to another place, we've to drive past this bridge. Which is... "WoW!"
So beautiful!

We went to the famous shopping mall called Jusco for some shopping!
I bought a pair of leather shoe from Camel Active which is RM$229 at 50% off.
Lovin' leather shoes nowadays (:

Lunch at Jusco's Stonegrill. Not too bad.
I love the concept of their store. The food was served on hot burning stone!

After lunch, we went to relative's place to fetch Grandma & GrandAunts.
We also went to visit my GrandUncle who's in an old folk's home.
It aches my heart seeing him there. A few years back we just went to his house for CNY visiting.
He was still as fit as a fiddle then. But now, he's so frail & weak.

It was 2hours of jam before we cleared the customs & finally reach back Singapore at 7pm.
I was a little grumpy cause Dad said we'll be back in Singapore by 3plus 4pm.
In the end, we're only back at 7pm. It ruined my plan.
But anyways, had Bak Kut Teh for dinner at Hougang Ave 8 before home.

Question: What do you call a row of Barbies?
Answer: BARBEQUE! :D
