Orientation Leadership Training Camp AY10/11
Day 1: 22nd March
I was pretty reluctant to go for the camp. I thought I'd be wasting 4 days of my hols away.
Reporting time was 10am, but I reached incredibly early at around 915am? Omgx.
This made me feel like turning back home. But I didn't.
At 10am, more people arrived & I see lots of familiar faces.
Thank goodness I was in the same group as Huimin. So I don't feel so bored after all.
We assembled in the LT for some briefings before we start the ball rolling for the camp.
My FA was Dineesha & our LT name is Gustav!
First was Ice-Breakers. I got to know all my group members & they're fun! (:
I know a few of them, some only their names, others are fresh faces to me.
After our lunch, we had Telematch.
Toxic Waste, Double Trapeze, 'Tight-Rope" Walking, Tower Defence, Save the Bomb.
Even the name of the game sounds fun.
These games requires team work, communication, & lots of other stuff.
After dinner, we had Amazing Race.
We only got to try out a few games like Big Leap, Precious Stone, Underwater Charade, Acid River, Milo Fushion. Then we had Night Walk.
Our group is supposed to go for the Night Walk in Design which was said to be scarier.
But due to time constraint, we went Business's instead.
We've to walk this stairway behind the lift up to level 5 in total darkness.
Fine, I admit I am the only scardy-cat there. I have no courage to walk up alone.
I tried negotiating with the station master for me to walk up with my friend but to no avail.
So we came to an agreement where I've to walk to level 3 alone then the next person catch up.
When I went in & the door was shut, I sprinted up the stair, 3-by-3.
Then I yelled for the next person to come up quick, who is Rahimi. LOL!
After I reached level 5, I realized it's not that bad after all. T_T
Supper, bathed & lights out at 2.00am.
Day 2: 23rd March
Rise & shine at 830am. I had the most horrible night in my entire life.
Though there is sleeping bag, it wasn't thick enough. The floor's is damn hard!
Lagi worst, there's no pillow! !@#$%^&*!@#$%^&*
I know this is camp & I should't be complaining & all but... it made my body ache.
After breakfast all of us were given a small little booklet - Officials Handbook.
Then they briefed us on Week 0, tell us what's going to happen, when is it etc.
Then they announced the selection results.
Guess what!? I was selected to be an Orientation Leader (!!!)
When I registered, I put Log as my first choice. But I ended up as an OL.
Well, if I was chosen to be an OL, means I got the potential, right? HAHAHA!
No, I am not praising myself. I'll do my best to be a good OL (:
After the briefing we went to a classroom & started preparing stuff for Week 0.
Aftermath was the Amazing Race simulation.
As an OL, I've to walk around the school to all the stations ALONE.
I don't know how I built up the courage but I think I was pretty brave that night.
Especially when I walked through Engine school's circuit, behind the canteen.
That place was foresty & absolutely no light. I almost can't make out the path.
It was pretty scary but I made it across to the station right at the other end.
Thankful I didn't kena the station which was right at the end of Engine. Phew.
The whole exercise ended at 2am & we had supper.
Bathed & lights out at 3am T_T
Day 3: 24th March
I only had 3 hours of sleep as I've to wake up at 6am for a job training/briefing.
I left school alone at 6am & walked through the dark again! Gah.
I went to Baby's house first to meet him, then we meet the rest at Vivo.
Reported back to camp at 5pm & it was another briefing.
Urgh! This camp is full of briefings like lectures.
Then they announced our partner for the Week 0.
My partner was Sukainah & we're taking class A10L03!! :D
After briefing, we watched the LC Play, & then Camp Fire!!
I super love the campfire. I love my group mate. & I love the new cheer this year!
Despite the wet weather earlier on that made the ground muddy, we had fun.
Supper & lights out at 2am.
Day 4: 25th March
We have to wake up at 7.30am for morning exercise.
Then briefing again. & we had Final Clash.
It was a fun game, I enjoyed it. Being the attacker is much more fun than defender.
We've been playing Angel Mortal game & I wrote 2 letters for my mortal already.
I received one from my angel too. Apparently my angel's a guy from Zola.
Initially I do not even know who my mortal is, but now I know. Shhh, cannot say.
After Final Clash, we went back to our bunks to pack up, clean up & assembled in the LT.
Debrief & home, sweet home.
I've learnt a lot in this 4 days of camp & I made lots of friends from all over the school.
This really is an experience for me.
