Week 0 Freshmen Orientation AY10/11
Day 1 (12th April): Ice-breakers & Telematches
Today the freshies reported & we get to meet our class.
If you have no idea yet, I am an orientation leader (OL) for class A10L03! (:
Oh my partner is Sukie. & we love our class TTM.
My class was awesome! Really. Before we even played icebreakers, they're already talking.
After all the administration work was done, we proceeded to playing ice-breakers.
It was fun cause my class was quite enthusiastic. I was worried my class would be 'dead'.
So we played games like Name Game Chain, Whacko, Pirate Duty Roster, Dog & Bone etc.
We played until there is no more games to play. Some of them even taught the class new games.
We had lunch after that, then back to LT to learn some cheers. Telematch was next.
I hope my class had fun despite the scorching sun.
Some of them have been complaining & some even fell sick after Telematch.
Home, sweet home after Telematch & I stayed over at Baby's crib.
Day 2 & 3 (13th-14th April): TP Mass Dance & Amazing Race
Poor AY10L03 have to report to school at 12pm for CPCG-meeting on the second day.
However, it was fun as we sat down teaching them cheer.
We even combined with Zul's class & taught all of them the cheers for regatta.
After CPCG-meeting, the program for day 2 officially started.
After dinner, the whole ASc moved to sports hall for the mass dance.
While we're starting, the hall suddenly blacked-out for 30mins. Totally epic.
Mass dance was A-W-E-S-O-M-E. I got to pair up with Zhengyee to demonstrate to the freshies.
We also took turns to pair up with freshies to teach them.
The most enjoyable part for me is the TP song. All the OLs ran around like mad dogs.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
& I love to do the chicky-dance, fast version ^.^
One of the major program for Week 0 started - Amazing Race.
I took one half of the class whereas Sukie took the other half.
Shall not bore you by telling you all the stations we played. Overall, we had an enjoyable time.
Oh btw, Ros came & join (more of helping me out) halfway through A.R.
He's been helping me talk cock or entertain my freshies when I was about to die.
Overnight program is really tiring, especially when I haven't been getting enough sleep lately.
Thanks Ros! (:
Whole program ended on day 3 at 630am. All my freshies were mad tired.
Some even fell sick. Omgxz.
Day 4: Dragonboat training & clearing up of LT decors & maze
My class do not have any workshops for today, so only those who volunteered for Telematches & dragonboat have to come down for training.
I took part in dragonboat for this year's regatta. Training was fun!
I partnered with Sam & throughout, we're more of having fun than training.
I saw Baby in school too. He was having camp as well.
& guess what!? He is in the same class as my kindergarten & secondary school classmate - John!
What a coincidence man, really. I saw a few familiar faces in camp too. What a small world.
Noon time, we cleared up our respective LTs & maze.
I helped in clearing the LT. & it felt like a pity to teardown the hardwork we've put in.
& I haven't even got the chance to take photos of it :/
Today is also the release of our class time-table.
I am super duper satisfied & contented with mine! (;
So super slack! I can afford to skip school on Weds & Fris on alternate weeks! ((:
Day 5: LC Play & Regatta
We watched the Level Coordinator (LC) Play at T.C.C..
The play was funny, I laughed like mad.
Then we cheered. No idea why Gustav did not do up to our expectation during cheer.
Aftermath, we moved out of T.C.C. & went to sports gallery to prepare for the Olympiad.
The whole place was chaotic. I ran here & there, trying to coordinate the whole school.
I shouted here, shouted there. Lost my voice, totally.
I didn't stay for long as I've to report for my dragonboat race.
Over at Bedok Reservoir. Even more chaotic.
I shall not give any comments on how I feel. Overall, quite pissed with the freshies.
& about the dragonboat, good job to the female freshies team for getting third.
As for us, we got fourth ); Lost by a bit but, good effort girls (:
I missed the best part of regatta, which is the cheering part.
Once again, ASc won for cheers again! Fourth time in a row already.
Congratulations! You guys did us proud! :D
After the regatta, it was not time for dismissal just yet.
We went back to our respective LTs for debrief. & also to remind the freshies on certain stuff.
Freshies are dismissed at 745pm but OLs still gta stay for briefing at 8pm.
I was quite anxious for dismissal as I am meeting Babies for steamboat.
I was dismissed at 845pm, with Baby waiting for me outside. Then we cab back to Hougang.
Applied Science school, we aim to sore high. Fly like eagles, in the sky so blue.
I know you say, AS is so small. I tell you all, we are almighty.
