Universal Studio Singapore ♥
"Esther ah? Esther still sleeping leh. You hold on ah..."
is what I heard my Dad saying over the phone as I was subconsciously awake.
I immediately prance out of my bed when I heard that cause I was late meeting the rest!
I have been looking forward to this day & we're supposed to meet at Vivo City at 830am,
but because I slept uber late last night trying to study for my test, I overslept -.-"
I'm so sorry to make Jz wait for me for almost an hour.
By the time Jz & I reach Vivo, no time for breakfast liao. I'm so sorry.
Anyway, it has been raining since I woke up. Must be the weather make me overslept :x
I didn't know we could actually walk to Sentosa from Vivo City!!
No la, actually the link just opened yesterday.
So does that make us the first few to cross over to Sentosa using it? * honoured wave.
After a few minutes walk, we finally reached Sentosa.
A little lost cause we do not know where to walk & the place is super empty.
Finally, we're outside USS!! We expected the crowd to be massive that's why we go earlier,
but who knows, due to the God damn weather, nobody will be so stupid to come.
We didn't have a choice cause our tickets were bought online & fixed on this day.
Remember? Jz & my tickets were birthday presents from Babies?
Lm also bought USS tickets for Gr for his birthday. Also, Ash & Lh had 2 complimentary tixs.
Therefore, Lh's sister Bh also decided to tag along with our friends Rach (:
In total, 8 awesome people went to USS together! :D
USS was WOW!!
A flashback of Hong Kong Disneyland struck me.
I think Singapore should have more of such entertainment.
The rain became heavier & heavier.
At first it was ok cause there was shelter, but if we gna go deeper in, we its open-air.
So all of us bought ponchos at $2 EACH wtf. Its like daylight robbery!
All of us dread wearing the ponchos cause its suuuper troublesome.
& it looks ugly in photographs D;
There were lots of unique structures everywhere.
It made the place look really like the cities of Western countries.
We were outside this building & the staff just kept encouraging us to go in & watch the show.
Since he was so convincing, we went in.
It was about how movies create effects using our senses etc to make the show captivating.
First they showed us a video, then they brought us into the scene.
The effects were really very real & its quite scary la.
Once we're out, we walked around in the sheltered area again. Took lots of photos.
We stepped out & saw the really exciting roller-coaster was has not opened yet.
I will definitely come back again to take this roller-coaster. I am a great fan of thrills & spills.
We exited the Sci-Fi place & came into this place which is full of Egyptian stuff.
We wanted to try the Mummy roller-coaster. But we are not allowed to bring our bags in.
So we opened a locker & put all our stuff inside.
Anyway, the lockers are FREE for the first 20/30mins. Shiok right?
& the password is your birthday. So everytime we want to open your locker, just key in your birthday.
But being so damn smart, we keep using the locker every 20mins.
Then we open new locker again using another date as our "birthday" (:
We are ready for the Mummy ride!!
It was oh-so-fun please! The plus point for this ride is that it was completely in darkness throughout.
Therefore you cannot see what's ahead of you & what's gna happen next!
Is it gna drop down verticallly? Is it gna hit another sharp bend? Is it gna roll backwards?
You can only feel it after. By the time, you only have time to scream.
Next, we wanted to play this ride. It doesn't look very thrilling but we wna try.
But by the time it reaches our turn, the ride was stopped due to the rain. !@#$%^&*
Seriously? So we waited for a little while hoping the rain would go away.
But no, everyone else in the queue left already but the 8 idiots (us) were still waiting.
So the staff suggest that we go to other indoor rides, rather than wasting our time here waiting.
So we heed his advice & not waste any more time waiting. Thank God.
We walked into the land of Far Far Away, the kingdom of Shrek & Fiona.
Omg, I love this cartoon to the max I caught all their movies! (:
We went into the theater to catch Shrek 4D. Yes, its FOUR-D. You'll know why.
First they gathered everyone in this room & told us plot before going in for more.
Now, wna know why its 4D? Cause its more than a 3D!
Its a 4D because there were additional effects!
Like, when he Donkey sneezes, there'd be water droplets sprinkled onto you.
The more unforgettable part is when the spider dropped,, you can feel the tickle on your legs.
Also, when the Dragon is flying, you can feel the wind blowing behind your ears.
The effects made me feel super unaware & ticklish la! But its a great show (:
Next, we walked over to Donkey Live.
It was meant to be a live interaction with the donkey but it was actually computerized.
It was still pouring & we're pretty much done with the indoor activities.
So we decided to have our lunch. We've $5 off for our meals! (:
Even so, guess how much does a set of Chicken Rice cost? $10.50!!
& it only includes the chicken rice & a bowl of green bean soup! The drink have to buy separately.
Omg, the chicken rice wasn't even nice to start off with. Taste like rice with chicken :/
Anyway, after that "filling" lunch, we continued our fun.
First off to Jurassic Park! :D
I think for every attractions there'd be at least a fun ride like roller coaster etc.
For Jurassic Park, it was this boat thingy where they bring us around.
It may look very easy & boring but you'd be surprised. Or rather, shocked.
Because at the end of the ride, there'd be an elevator to bring the boat up, then you'd slide down.
SPLASH!
At first I thought why are we wearing poncho on this boring slow-moving vehicle,
so while reaching the end I was too irritated by that over-sized poncho covering my eyes,
so I removed it. Instant regret when the boat hit the water & I was drenched from top to toe.
Know you know why we looked super drenched & wet in this photo.
We're on our way to other rides when we saw this mime walking on the street.
So we went forward & asked for a photo. He's super cute pleaseee!
We just stood by his side for the photo but he motioned a no.
He made me hold on to this luggage & then he motioned Jz to kneel down. LOL.
If you don't know, mimes aren't supposed to talk so they can only show action.
Further up we saw a crowd gathering so we joined in the crowd.
Its a team of dances, together with other volunteers dancing hip-hop. They're quite good.
At Sci-Fi this is the only ride, which made my head really very giddy. I don't like.
We continued to walk around to explore... as well as take a lot of photos.
We "rented" the lockers again & queued for this ride.
Earlier this morning it was stopped due to the wet weather.
But since the rain has stopped, we joined the queue. It was long.
Its just a buggy ride to bring us round the dessert with lots of decorations.
Nothing much really.
There's a show at Water World. It starts at 530pm.
Practically the whole of USS flocked there. Squeezy ttm.
The show has lots of drama & sound effects.
Suuuper loud I jumped a few times.
It was already evening, so we decided to just walk & around & catch the things we've missed.
I finally found the Madagascar part!
We were also given $5 off for gifts. So its either we buy something, or waste the $5 voucher.
I bought 2 very cute things using my own & Jz's voucher. Hehe! :D
Its a Shrek baby's keychain as well as a Betty Boop mug!
The mug was humongous! Its more like a soup bowl.
Rach bought a bottle of "potion" to drink. I wanted to buy 1, so that I can keep the bottle.
But, 1 bottle costs around $12+(?) I think a little waste money.
Before we bid a final good-bye, the classic USS globe...
After USS, Lm, Bh, Jz & I went to Punggol Nasi Lemak for dinner!
It was my first time trying the Nasi Lemak there.
Ikr, my house is like 5mins walk to Punggol Nasi Lemak yet this is the first time I try it.
Thank you Babies for the USS tickets!
I love ALL of you to the core! ♥
